Our brave boy bear was taken on a night time mission by pilot Flt Lt Stew Campbell and WSO Sqn Ldr Darren Lounds which lasted for more than four hours, our brave but tired bear landing back safe and sound as dawn broke across Kandahar airbase! Here we see our H4H Bear helping with the pre-flight checks before the canopy was closed and the two man and a bear crew set off into the night.
Just like Bear No.1, details on how you can bid to take home our adventurous Bear No.2 will be posted here on our blog in the next few days. He is a very rare commodity - a teddy bear that is a member of 617 Sqdn, the Dambusters who has completed a sortie on board a Tornado GR4 on active service!! As with Bear No.1 there is a Certificate signed by the aircrew who flew our gallent bear over Afghanistan and a CD full of photos of the Bear in Afghanistan!
Start saving up as of now - every penny you bid for him when the time comes will be going to Help for Heroes and the amazing work they do supporting the recovery of our wounded on their return from duty. Thank you.
Dambusters2012 is a charity motorcycle ride dedicated to raising cash for Help for Heroes. Make you donation at www.bmycharity.com/dambusters2012 .Thank you.
