617 Sqdn, Kandahar Airbase. The night shift ...

Three images tonight from my friends in 617 sqdn, Kandahar Airbase on their night shift. Defending freedom is a 24 hour task and we are incredibly lucky to have such brave and dedicated men and women willing to to do it on our behalf.

As you have a look at these pictures I would like you to do two things:

1. Pause for a moment and reflect on the sad losses from 617 Sqdn's home base at RAF Lossiemouth this week where two 15(R) Sqdn Tornados crashed into the sea with the loss of three lives, one crew member being seriously ill but stable in hospital as I write this.
2. Go to www.bmycharity.com/dambusters2012 and make a small donation to Help for Heroes to show your support for all our armed forces, at home and abroad. They are willing to put life and limb on the line for all of us. Providing some support in return when they return injured and traumatised is surely the very least we owe them.
